Diane and Family
Medical bills from cancer treatments and numerous surgeries for several family members made it impossible to stay current with rent and bills
Family consists of grandmother, mother, and two children. Grandmother is undergoing cancer treatment, mother has had nine major surgeries in the past two years, and son had one surgery this year. All the medical bills and copays made it impossible to stay current with rent and routine bills.
The Krewe provided $3,550 to cover one month back rent and partial rent payments for the next two months.
Partnering with Advent Health Systems, we were able to provide an additional $1925 to help with the ongoing medical Co-pays.
Farra
Family of six, one parent lost a job and they got behind on rent and evicted. They needed help with first and last months' rent and partial security deposit on new apartment.
Farra is a nursing student with three children. She works part-time delivering for a food delivery service, and home schools her kids. She lives with her mother and the children's father. When her mother lost her job, they got behind on rent and were evicted. They had enough for a partial security deposit on a new apartment but needed help with the rest.
The Krewe provided $400 towards her $1,000 housing deposit.
$2,800 for their first and last months' rent. All funds to be paid directly to the provider

Leah
Leah needed help in getting caught up with rent after becoming a victim of domestic violence and losing half her income when here boyfriend went to jail.
Leah became a victim of domestic violence. Her boyfriend was arrested and she became solely responsible for all bills in the house. She learned they were in arrears with rent to the sum of $4,300. She immediately mad a partial payment. She is working but her income is just not enough to make up for all the of the debt the boyfriend has left left her. .
The Krewe provided $4,049.49 in funds to get Leah's rent and utilities current.

Carissa
Carissa became a victim of domestic violence. When her husband was removed from the house she learned they were behind on rent and on the verge of eviction.
Carissa became the sole provider for her two children when her husband was removed from the house. She learned she was behind two months rent and utilities. She started a new job, it will cover current bills, but not the past due ones. She was about to have her utilities shut off and on the verge of eviction
The Krewe provided $3,500 for 2 months past due rent, and $836 for 2 months past due utilities for a total of
$4,336. All funds paid directly to the provider.

Ashley
26 year old young lady with breast cancer needed support
Ashley is the 26 year old young lady with breast cancer and has a five year old son.
She needed a car and insurance to go to her treatments, doctor’s appointments, to transport her son to and from school.
The Krewe provided $4,345.82 to cover:
$431.86 past due phone bill plus 2 additional months
$726.72 for 3 months car insurance
$368.70 for 3 months storage
Ashely is now past her surgery and has completed her last round of chemo. She has remained positive and upbeat throughout this ordeal, so much so that she is even helping others that are starting their journey.
Rachael
A young lady with breast cancer in desperate need of support
Rachel was a Registered nurse and was diagnosed with Malignant Neoplasm of her right breast she needed financial support during the period of treatment.
The Krew paid to cover:
3 months of car payments $1,654.26 (Feb thru April $551.42 x 3)
3 months of medical insurance payments $1,211.34 (Feb thru April $403.78 x 3)
3 Months Mortgage payments $6,752.64
(Feb thru April $2205.68 x 3)
January past due Mortgage payment balance $2,000.00
Total Expenditure $11,618.24
Funds to be paid directly to the service provider.

Rachael is now in maintenance phase of the cancer treatment. She gets immune therapy every 3 weeks. She is taking a low stress approach right now. Her plan is to get back into the Nursing career in 2024. For now she is doing music performances locally at various venues such as Prohibition Kitchen. She is deeply appreciative in how our Krewe came to her aid.

Symone
Getting a hard working person back on their feet
Symone 's illness has been very debilitating and has affected her ability to work a full-time job. Prior to her illness she had a successful career, was going to college majoring in Criminal Justice and owned a condo. She has lost everything because of this and continues to struggle with her health and is in constant pain.
In 2018, she started with Door Dash and began to earn good money delivering on a bicycle. It helped her to pay for her medications and she was on the path to getting back on her feet. In 2019 she started with Uber Eats and really likes working with them. Then the pandemic hit, which obviously affected her ability to earn an income and was on unemployment assistance for a while which has since run out. She is receiving food stamps.
The Krewe assisted ssistance as follows:
· Uber Eats (deposit and one week rental with Uber Eats $500
· Hotel for 2 weeks $1140
· Cell phone $100
· Storage unit $100
· Credit Card Payment $100
Total $1940
Viktoriia & Uliana
Helping immigrant families who arrived with nothing but the clothes on their back.
The Krewe was informed that two Ukranian families, husband, wife and 2 children in each family, arrived in the US their only possessions being the things they could carry in a suitcase.
They were able to find rental accommodation, but it is now typical for rentals to NOT come equipped with a fridge, washing machine or dryer. The family were washing their clothes daily in a bathtub.
The Krewe provided two months rent, utilities, and purchased appliances for both families.
Amanda & Family
Amanda is an employed and hardworking single mother with three children who had rented a house for three years with no issues. At the height of the housing crisis Amanda was served with eviction papers. The family ended up sleeping in a hotel while they looked for accommodation, the cost of the hotel depleted the remainder of their resources. The family was forced to split up and live with separate friends.
The Krewe provided funds for first, last, and security deposit on an apartment/house rental, utilities hook-up, and additional two months' rent.
The family was reunited and living in stable accommodations.
Janette & Daughter
Janette is disabled retired Navy widow on Social Security, Janette's daughter was about to "age out" of the Tricare system, and Janette could not afford COBRA payments or medication, in addition there were issues with social security payments.
The Krewe of the 13 provided over $4,000 in support for Janette and daughter to cover insurance payments, copay, and medication.
Note From Janette:
"Thanks to the Krewe of the Thirteen, my disabled daughter is able to see her physicians and specialists. She’s able to have her seven daily medications.
They took us, strangers to them, and covered an entire quarter of her insurance premium and copays for doctor visits and lifesaving medications.
You have my unwavering gratitude and respect, ladies and gentlemen. We couldn’t have done it without you."
