The Krewe was informed that two Ukranian families, husband, wife and 2 children in each family, arrived in the US their only possessions being the things they could carry in a suitcase.

They were able to find rental accommodation, but it is now typical for rentals to NOT come equipped with a fridge, washing machine or dryer. The family were washing their clothes daily in a bathtub.

The Krewe provided two months rent, utilities, and purchased appliances for both families.
