It appears the requests from Ukranian families may be far more than what we are seeing thus far. How will we determine which families we help and how much we will donate? Will we establish a cap? Their need is great, obviously, but I guess I'm just questioning if this the best use of our funds? They appear to have other resources available to them. Will we be able to continue to help those in our community who have no other resources? I'm not opposed to helping the refugees -- I'm just concerned at where it stops.

Tortuga (aka Lisa) had a great idea about personalizing K13 members' shirts and Sharpshooter Sarah tacked on a great idea. So, since not everyone going is in K13, those who are can get the design pictured here printed on the back (that's an option on Angela's website ... follow her link below). Then all of us who have Cricut machines can add our krewe logo on the front. Now, next decision ... need everyone to answer: pick one color for all K13 members or let everyone decide their own color? Let's hear from everyone! We need everyone to order their shirts asap so we have time to add the logo.

I've had my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed since we stared this. Celebrity knew we were waiting for the change and contacted me before the announcement so we could get in before the cruise sells out!

As of today, the new protocol is ALL can cruise (unvaccinated can't go to Bermuda or Canada) Yes, you can get off the ship!! It's time to party mates!!

As a prior Social Worker working with this type of case, my first question would be: has she applied for Medicare to cover her expenses? COBRA is an extremely expensive medical option. Applying for Medicaid would not affect her SSI eligibility. I'm not opposed to the request, but I would like to know if applying for Medicaid has been explored.

Four more cruise lines announced today that they will no longer require vaccinations for cruising passengers. One (RCCL) still requires the vax for cruises leaving from Florida ONLY because too many of the Caribbean Islands won't let passengers off the ship unless vaccinated. But the cruise line is working hard to resolve this. The GOOD NEWS is that it's looking REALLY GOOD and there IS, at last, a CHANCE, that Celebrity will allow non-vaccinated passengers on the Pirate Rum Cruise. Cross your fingers, toes and eyes and stay tuned for more info!

This morning, NCL announced that they have rescinded the vaccination requirement and will now allow passengers who have not received the vaccination to sail. Some ports won't allow you to get off and this applies only to NCL as of today but it is looking good! We're keeping our fingers, toes and eyes crossed that Celebrity will follow NCL. Keep the faith, mates! I will be in Europe for 6 weeks beginning next Tuesday (August 16). I will have WiFi throughout my trip and will check both the protocol status and my emails daily.
