Erin this is a terrific synopsis, thank you. I am not a mortgage specialist but I’m fairly certain she can’t refinance something that technically doesn’t belong to her except in deed? I think the ex would have to transfer the debt to her in order for her to refi and based on what she’s said about the ex, he’s not about to do that. If we pay the months that haven’t been paid, we are only helping the ex not to be foreclosed on, not Melody.

I thought it was stated that their new mortgage amount includes the increase to cover the escrow shortage? There are many of us who are being affected by these same shortages due to raising insurance costs. Have we actually seen the document from the mortgage company that spelled out the options available to them to realign the escrow?

This is a well put together request and hope we can help in some way. If we are going to help with the arrears of escrow, I'd like to suggest we ask for a copy of the escrow analysis to see what the repayment options are for them and how we may be able to help in a way that does not raised their mortgage so much.

I will drive Mad Magnolia on the beach as well so folk's can put stuff in her so they don't have to carry it!

I am hopeful that if we do help her get thru July, she'll be back on her feet and able sustain herself. It seems she knows how to save if she was able to pay a huge portion of the back rent. By looking for a second and or better paying she is trying to better her situation.
