Krewe,
It has been brought to my attention that there is a need for Christmas decoration donations. It would be great if you have an extra Christmas tree, or extra Christmas decorations you wouldn't mind donating to families in need. If you do have some to donate, please bring them to Kathy and Roger's on Saturday. Kathy will see that they are given to those in need.

A portion of this meeting will be about our second fundraiser, All Hallows Eve. Have you bought your ticket yet? If not, it would be good to do so now.
At 7:00, we will then turn it over to the more fun side, our social! At this point, any potential swabbies are welcome.
There will be food and drinks. If you like a particular drink, please bring it.

Leah Tumminelli became the victim of domestic violence on June 6th. Her boyfriend is now maintaining residence in the county jail. Copies of the police report have been sent to me, which I have shared with the Captain.
It wasn’t until after he was in jail she realized how far behind she was in her bills. He led her to believe the bills were paid. Like she said before, she was $4,300 behind (two months at $2100 and two $100 late fees), but was able to pay a big chunk, just not all of it.
Kseniya Edwards, the leasing agent, knew something was wrong but didn’t know the extent. Two days ago, she gave the, “3 days to pay or get out notice”. After my conversation with Kseniya, she promised she would not evict her, since she is working with the Krewe. I did explain that our funds are not 100% guaranteed. I told her that I would keep her in the loop.
Leah has two children (age 9 and 11) who live with their father, not her. The father lives close so the kids can visit often. However, the kids chose to live with their father because they didn’t like Leah’s boyfriend.
Leah is currently working at Sabal Palms Assisted Living & Memory Care in Palm Coast. She is a CNA, making minimum wage, averaging $2200 - $2300 a month. She has worked there since the beginning of March. Her supervisor, and a co-worker both praised her work ethic. They said she is fantastic with all the residents, even when she is doing unfavorable tasks. They both said that she strives to make the residents smile. Both Amanda (coworker) and Barbara (supervisor) have stated that she is reliable and shows up to work on time, everyday. Barbara wishes there were more people with her drive to work hard.
Leah is currently seeking a second job so that she will not have to have a roommate. She had a job interview on 6/15, and will have another on 6/16.
Leah said that she is working with Marta, a counselor at Family Life Center in Palm Coast. She is working to put a restraining order against Mario, the boyfriend. Everyone that I have talked to believes she will not allow him back in her life once he is out of jail.
As of right now, Leah owes $1600 in back rent, with July’s $2100 fast approaching. She also owes $132.59 for water, and $216.90 for electric, $63.13 of that is late.
Leah did not choose to become a victim of domestic violence. She didn’t choose to not pay her bills. As far as she knew, they were paid. Unfortunately, someone she loved took her advantage of her in the most terrible way. Now, she is trying to stand on her own two feet. I believe she will be able to do that if the Krewe will help her get out of the current hole she is in.

I LOVE Mike’s idea to hold a gathering/social on the months that the 13th falls on a Saturday. It just so happens, the 13th falls on a Saturday this Feb!
If you’re able, let’s go show O’Malley’s some love. She could use some of our attention.
Let’s meet around 5ish. Sound like something you wanna do? Great! See ya there!

Hey Everyone,
https://fantasyfarmsevents.org
Wade and I just discovered this place today. We are attending a fundraiser event here. This place is absolutely amazing!!! I thought I’d share. They said they can host events for up to 250 people. The money used to rent the venue goes to caring for the animals on the property. Whatcha think??
