A couple of people that were on the cruise have tested positive for Covid so for the safety of others we are changing the Holiday Party to a Winter Party on Saturday, January 7th! The Captain and Cutthroat Kathy will host the social at 5 Smiling Fish Lane, Palm Coast 32137. The event will still start at 6:30. Please bring an appetizer/dish to share. Alcohol will be provided unless you have a specific preference of cocktail, then bring some to share! This will be a garbed social. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday!! Social Committee

The December Social will be a holiday party hosted by Captain Proper Roger and his lovely wife Cutthroat Kathy.. Our newest core member, Sarah Fall underwent a difficult surgery earlier today. I'm happy to report the surgery was a success! She is at Mayo in Jacksonville and will be there for a few days. Then she will be at home recuperating for several weeks to a month or two. Please keep Sarah in your thoughts and prayers. Wishing Sarah a speedy recovery!!

What an amazing evening! Everybody had a great time. Sarah, Phyllis, Brian, Tracey, Lisa, Laura, Erin, and the rest of the team, you put on one fantastic event! All of your hard work for running a successful event will go a long way in fulfilling our mission. Huzzah to the team, all those who worked, sold tickets and attended the event!!!

Since it’s the 13th we’ll be at O’Malley’s starting at 4:30 BUT before we start on land, some will first come by sea. We have reserved the Old Town Cycle Cruise, located at Beaches at Vilano Restaurant, 254 Vilano Rd in St. Augustine for a 2:30 cruise -https://oldtowncyclecruise.com/ The cost is normal $42.00; however, for the Krewe the cost was lowered to $30.00 per person. The boat only holds 24. THIS IS A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE ACTIVTY. FYI…there are 12 peddle spots, but if no one wants to peddle that’s okay, the boat has power. If you plan to attend, please RSVP below and then text me at 904-309-4008 and I’ll provide you with my PayPal or Venmo information. I’m responsible for paying Old Town Cycle Cruise, a deposit has already been made. Payment must be received to secure your place on the boat. If something comes up and you are not able to attend, you will be able to find a replacement, but we’re not able to refund the money. If we have more people that want to go but no seats, the Social Committee will plan another cycle cruise in the Spring, so everyone has a chance to go. Please plan to arrive at Old Town Cycle Cruise by 2:15 PM, for a 2:30 cruise. For those not attending the cruise, we’ll see you at O’Malley’s at 4:30! This is a garbed event.

The October’s Social will be held at Shantytown Village, located at 10270 US-1N, St. Augustine. It’s about a ½ mile south of the I-95 overpass and Route 1. Shantytown is a 7-acre old oyster farm with rustic buildings filled with local Artisan market items made by local businesses and craftsman, and local talent - https://shantytownvillage.com. We have reserved the picnic area so garb up and bring food to share (hearty appetizers, side dishes, dessert, etc.) and of course BYOB. Electricity will be available for anyone who wants to bring a crockpot dish. Sternos are also okay. Feel free to bring folding chairs if you prefer this seating over a picnic table. For those who are interested we can take a stroll (or run!) through the Undead Cemetery! The cemetery is one acre, walking through a haunted trail with animatronics and live actors. The cost is usually $10 but for the Krewe the cost is reduced to $7.00. The Artisan Market will also be open for you to shop. You might find something you want to donate for AHE or to start your holiday shopping. This also will be a great opportunity for you to turn in any auction items you have collected and/or money from tickets sells for AHE. Please RSVP below and let me know what you plan to bring to share. And let me know if you plan to visit the Undead Cemetery. Shantytown would like a headcount by October 12th.

To broaden the Krewe’s networking opportunities and exposure within the Flagler County community, the Krewe of the 13, Inc, is now a member of the Palm Coast-Flagler Chamber of Commerce. This was done at zero cost to the Krewe. We were able to join as a Nonprofit member for only $100, which I covered the cost as a donation to the Krewe. We are now able to attend and participate in both St. Johns and Flagler County Chamber of Commerce monthly meetings, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, etc. We have our first invite from Palm Coast-Flagler Chamber of Commerce! On Thursday, August 25th we have been invited to attend the Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening for The Azure of Palm Coast (senior living community) from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. It is free to attend. The Azure is located at 144 Cypress Point Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137. And YES, we will be in garb! Their theme for the event is a cruise ship party, so pirate garb will fit right in and add to the atmosphere of the marine theme. Please comment below and let me know if you are able to attend. It was an early morning for Krewe of the 13 as we welcomed Costco to our community! The Krewe was invited to Costco's ribbon cutting ceremony for their grand opening at their new location in St. Augustine. We were invited to attend the ceremony by the St. John's County Chamber of Commerce. Many thanks to the members that were able to attend on behalf of the Krewe!

Social on June 26, 2022 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm at Sarah Fall’s home. 2 Crafton Ct. Palm Coast, FL 32137. Sarah and her husband Steve will be servicing champagne & mimosas. Brunch will be served with sandwiches and finger food. Sodas and water provided. If you like, you can bring your own alcoholic beverage. Bring a swimsuit and towel if you would like to swim. Rain or shine, Sarah also has a large, covered area outside. Thank you Sarah for hosting! Appreciate all you do and we're happy to hear you're feeling better!

Friendly Reminder - the April social is scheduled for this Sunday, April 24th starting at 4:00 PM. The Swabbies will be hosting an Italian meal for the members! If you would like to bring an appetizer please comment below or text me, see number below. Also, it would be great to get a headcount. Please comment below if you will be attending. No need to respond if your unable to attend. The photo shoot will follow after the social. We'll head over to Marineland about 6:30 with the photo shoot starting around 7:00 PM. Even if you don't want to participate in the photo shoot please make every effort to attend the social! Always fun times gathering at a member's home. Plenty of outdoor space for those you feel more comfortable being outside. My address is 21 Turtle Beach Drive, Palm Coast 32137 located in the Beach Haven Community. Casino Night is only 8 days away and we need your help to get ready for the event. Auction items – please plan to have all auction items turned in by Monday, March 21st. Please contact either Cathy Greene (904-309-4008) or Kathy Allen (386-801-6706) to arrange a drop off. If you are not able to deliver by Monday, we need a detailed description of the item and value so we can prepare the bid sheet. Must have the item no later than Wednesday, March 23rd. Money for Ticket Sells - need all ticket money turned in by Monday as well so we have a total headcount to give the caterer on Tuesday. If you haven’t bought your ticket yet, please get a move on! There is still a couple more days to visit merchants and ask for an auction item. Attached is the Auction Item Form that should be completed by the donor. Remember the donation is tax deductible and nice publicity. AND it’s for charity. Core members - this is 1 of our 2 fundraiser events. Time is flying by, only 24 days until Casino Night! This is one of our two fundraisers for the year and goes along way of supporting our goal of raising $50k+ in 2022. We need everyone’s effort to make this another successful event. We are low in ticket sells so we need a big push over the next couple of weeks! From the paper tickets that have been given out (~150) + tickets sold through Eventbrite (~25) we’re only tracking to about 150 possible sold tickets. This means we have a short fall of 75 tickets to meet our target of 225 sold tickets. I’ll be reaching out to the members over the next several days to get a status on your ticket sells and to see if anyone needs more paper tickets. After the parade this Saturday, I’ll be at the social at O’Malley’s to collect money from sold tickets. I’ll also having paper tickets available if you need any. Also, we still need auction items. Please ask your favorite restaurant, hair salon, artisan, etc. if they would like to contribute an auction item. If you provided an item last year, please reach out to the donor to see if they would like to contribute again. Ticket sells help covers the cost of the event. If you missed the first one, this is a great opportunity to come out and take advantage of these amazing photographers. Even if you were at the photo shoot in January, please come out again. Krewe, We are only 7 weeks away from the first of our two major fundraisers of 2022 – Casino Nights! As with both fundraisers this is an all-hands-on deck to ensure we have another successful event. I know there is a lot going on with the Order of Leviathan but hoping we can still move the needle on three key items - Sponsors, Auction Items and Selling Tickets. To help get you started attached please find 6 documents: Krewe of the 13 Tri-fold – this is an updated brochure providing the Krewe’s history, mission, and examples of how we have helped in the community. This will be useful as we start talking to sponsors and donors. Event Sponsorship Overview - for this event we have created additional sponsor levels. Hoping this will make it more affordable for sponsors to give and in turn increase sponsorship. We still have the Event Sponsor at $5,000 but now we have a Food Sponsor - $2500, Bar Sponsor - $1500, Entertainment Sponsor - $1,000, Table Sponsor - $500 and lastly a Patron sponsor at $250. Note: we can have multiples in each category. And as always, any donation amount is welcome! Event Sponsor Form – once a sponsor has committed to donate, please have the Sponsor Form completed. Please return the completed form to either CutThroat Kathy or me (Execution Cathy) along with the check. It’s important we have the Sponsor’s correct information so the thank you card with tax receipt can be mailed timely. If paying by credit card, please contact Kathy A. List of 2021 Action Items – this is the list of action items received for the 2021 Casino Night. Action Item - please look over the list and if you secured the item last year, please let me know if you will be reaching out to the donor again this year. At a minimum we would like to at least have the same donors donate again this year. Challenge - we had approx. 35 auction items last year, lets make it 50 this year! And the nicer the item the more booty to be made! Auction Item Form – please have the donor complete. Again, it’s important we have the donor’s correct information so the thank you card with tax receipt can be mailed timely. Casino Night Poster Ticket Sales – tickets can be purchased either through eventbrite.com or tickets for you to sell will be handed out at the Leviathan training on Sunday 2/6; the Sign Language class on Wednesday, 2/9; and at the February 13th social. Hard copies of the attached documents will also be handed out at the above functions. If you are not able to make any of these dates, let me know and I’ll get tickets & hard copies to you.
