Lisa, my structure has Lisa’s C’s work effort falling the Advocate Coordinator. This position oversees both pre and post families. That’s why it’s an officer position. It covers the E2E process of grant giving and follow up.

I'll play angels advocate to Tortuga's devel advocate. The comment around the Advocate is only working when we have recipients would also apply to the Swabbie Coordinator and the Record Keeper's role. Sometimes we have 5+ swabbies, other times it may only be 1 or 2 so there's less work. The Record Keeper is probably very busy certain times of the year and other times not so much. An Officer title should not be about the amount of work you have. Officer positions are there to provide leadership, lead strategic changes, make hard decisions when needed and to support the overall growth of the Krewe. In corporate business I have seen single contributors, who have zero direct reports and doesn't carry a heavy workload be an officer because of the type of work they do. There are two key components of our organization - giving grants to families and increasing membership. Both should be treated the same, I don't see one as more important than the other.  In the Advocate Coordinator role, I believe there is opportunity to add more responsibility. We need a documented process with our grant giving, solid training (which I believe there is coaching done today) for Krewe Advocators, tracking successes of families we have helped as well as those we didn't get right, and learning from those. Under this position, I would include the follow up with past recipients and reporting out to the Krewe as another key component. We should have reporting, i.e # grants amounts, types of requests, # we have turned down and why. Thanks...

As oganizations grow the infrastructure needs to grow with it. The Keeper of the Records and Swabbie Coordinator are both key postions for the Krewe and I'm in agreement both should be officer positions. However, in addition I would recommend the Advocate Coordinator should also be an officer position. The Swabbie Coordinator manages potential new members and the Advocate Coordinator manages the assigned advocates, which is a critical piece to what we do to ensure we are giving grants to the right familes in need. My recommendation is to have a Krewe with 9 Officers - Captain, Quartermaster, First Mate, Purser, Scribe, Master at Arms + Keeper of Records, Swabbie Coordinator, and Advocator.

Depending on the time I should be able to make it. Would have to adjust some meetings around.
