This is clearly a person in dire need and needs our “immediate” assistance! aye!

Lisa Symone is apparently a very modest woman who is only asking for a little help. She hasn’t asked for something over the top but just some assistance to get through the month. it would be great if we could solve her transportation needs with a used car but timing is critical and she seems OK with her scooter Cleon

Certainly this family has dire needs. Everyone involved has worked hard to vet this family. So, I agree with the $10,400 payout but feel that her credit card should not be addressed by the Krewe. There are a number of debt relief services available that will help reduce credit balances and/or payments. Thanks to all involved.

This is one of those requests that should be fully vetted. Has that been done? In my opinion request such as these need to be vetted before submittal to the Krewe.

I support this motion and suggest that Alan closely follows up to insure that this initial help is sufficient.

Krewe, The reasoning behind the concept of looking for younger pirates is simply to expand our demographics to include "all" ages and all economic levels of income. Diversity will make us a stronger more vibrant Krewe. New Pirates like those that are already a part of the Krewe will naturally take care of themselves and we will no doubt add to the Krewe more Pirates "just like us" through normal relations. But this campaign is simply looking for a little change of the mix of Pirates that make up our Krewe who may come with different views and abilities. That implied message is only a result of simply using some of our younger pirates vs. the typical older pirates, like myself. There is no language that implies only younger Pirates may apply. The bottom line is we need to find Pirates willing to participate in our charitable efforts while having fun experiencing the Pirate culture we are trying to create. Depending upon how well the posters come out, we plan on strategically locating them in places that Pirates hang out i.e. O'Malleys, the Pirate Store, etc. In the hopes that people will see other Pirates and want to join. The posters along with the attached info sheets are simply a conversation starter that opens the door to membership possibilities. This project may cost far less than the proposed budget of $450. The idea for mugs and T-shirts is only viable if we can create a really dynamic photo and will only be done as a means of reinbursing the Krewe for the budgeted funds used. I have no comment regarding other recruitment possibilities leaving that to others. But, as previously noted in my project offering we will need a venue to attract potential Swabees to so they can meet other members of our Krewe. Again, that is not part of this effort and hopefully someone in the Krewe picks that up and runs with it. It is a critical component of our recruiting potential success. I hope this helps define our project objectives.
